I wanna share my rant from a bit ago.

Try to guess the subject if the rant before reaching the last paragraph (8th paragraph, under the cut), most of you will fail.

If you look at Anxiety vs Paranoia, its very different.

Anxiety & depression can make you feel like everyone hates you, but you deserve it

Paranoia, however, causes you to think everyone wants to hurt you, and they're wrong for it, so you become overprotective.

Paranoia can cause you to be mean and even attack others before they do the same. It can often be confused for Narcissistic Personality Disorder in a lot of cases, because you may seem like you think you're better than everyone, when in reality you are just certain everyone is trying to hurt you.

Anxiety is your natural fight or flight response, your impulse, your stress, and usually, your need to "be better". When paired with disordered depression, it become disordered too, and make you an overthinker. It can cause you to feel worthless and like everyone thinks you're worthless. It can cause you to misread situations. It make you seem lazy or tired all the time. It can make you feel like a detective (unlike paranoia, which makes you feel like a famous criminal on the run).

Paranoia is usually rooted in an anxiety disorder paired with delusions (or Paranoid Personality Disorder)

While Anxiety is just part of everyone. And disordered anxiety is usually a sign of general mental health issues.

Genuinely so sick and tired of having to be the most knowledgeable person in the room about my disorder because actual fucking psychiatrists often don't even know what it is

It's so stupid to constantly be dumbed down to this "aww lil introvert guy so sad how they don't have friends and have 0 emotions" or else being equated with other more well-known disorders despite having little in common with them

Literally it is so tiring that the research on it is so limited and if you Google it you're most likely to find a story about how a criminal didn't manage to get off the hook because they don't have schizophrenia! We caught them lying! It was szpd all along! And we all know that's not a real disorder, don't we

Like for real how come it's real enough to be in the dsm but not real enough for anyone to do any actual research.. not even professionals whose job is to research this kind of thing..

And don't even get me started on the "empath" mfs who will literally say "I wish I could have no emotions like you! Life would be so easy then" without batting a fucking eye..

You observe and watch humans and you take care of them, but you know that they'll never be able to help you. Usually, they don't want to help you, either. You're alone and it's great, but sometimes you wish you could experience the community that they have. The care that they receive.

I'll never understand why neurotypicals are so hell-bent on forcing recovery onto disordered people. You tell someone you have a disorder and the first thing that comes out of their mouth is "okay, so how can I fix you?". It's disgusting and infantilizing, they make it very clear they don't view you as a person but purely as a problem to fix. To them, we are just a project for them to work on, a game for them to play out their saviour complex so they can feel good about themselves for helping someone they see as less than them.

What makes it even worse is when you tell the person you have a disorder that is incurable and permanent, a lifelong disorder that can't be fixed. They immediately become defensive and accuse you of playing the victim card, tell you that you don't want help you just want to be sick, or insinuate you're faking it, along with telling you that it can be cured when it isn't true because they can't cope with a problem they can't fix. They take it as a personal offense that you won't let them control you like you're their child and force you to heal as immediately as you tell them you are sick.

Self dx schizotypal and schizoid culture is struggling to find the right label/description for what you're going through (autism, OCD, schizophrenia, etc.), which led to getting evaluated for autism and being told you don't have it, but then later finding that STPD and SZPD fit perfectly.

But when you try to tell your family, they don't believe you because of how many things you've questioned in trying to find answers and because of a family history of hypochondria
